The tower comprises a telecommunication museum, a restaurant, supermarkets, food courts, conference halls with seating for 400 people, a 1,000-seat auditorium, luxury hotel rooms, ballrooms and an observation gallery. Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the premier telecommunication service provider in Sri Lanka is delighted to announce its epic accomplishment in the arena of technological infrastructure with the utmost dedication and commitment of the entire SLT family.

The ‘Lotus Tower – Multifunctional TV and Telecommunications Tower’ is foreseen to be one of the significant landmarks and an epitome of Sri Lankan economy, culture and development. Few years back, SLT partnered with China National Electronics Import and Export Corporation, the main contractor of this project and signed a MoU with TRCSL to develop ICT solutions of this magnificent architectural building. The time has arrived to present the fulfilment of this mammoth venture carried out by SLT. The infrastructure is built with fibre optic cables and is fully equipped with necessary telecommunication equipment which are supported in two ways ensuring zero downtime incidences. 

To elaborate further, if one line turns out to be faulty, the second line would definitely perform as the back-up since the installed fibre optic cables are furnished to serve as a resilient network. Accordingly, all the technological services and devices will run smoothly even without a mild disturbance. The exceptional and intricate fibre optic telecommunication infrastructure on the Lotus Tower can be categorised into two main parts. Under the ‘Basic Telecommunication Infrastructure Development’, SLT focused on three substantial deliverances. Firstly, this sophisticated telecommunication infrastructure can cater to all Enterprise level, SME and Consumer customers’ telecommunication needs simultaneously. 

Secondly, other telecommunication service providers in the country also can perform their network and service platforms on the built infrastructure of SLT. 

Thirdly, the Lotus Tower is expected to be Sri Lanka’s ‘Digital TV Tower’ in the long run. Considering the forthcoming requirements of digital TV broadcasters, SLT has already laid the desirable telecommunication infrastructural paths to transport content to ‘Lotus Tower’ from their respective control centres. 

The second main segment of this advanced infrastructure is introduced as ‘Extra Light Voltage Solution/Weak Current System’. SLT partnered with the main contractor of the lotus tower project to develop ICT Solutions under 14 sub-systems of internal telephones, LAN – WAN and IPTV, Information Publishing, Building Management, Access Control, Video Surveillance and Control, Public Addressing, Walkie-Talkie (wireless intercom), Wireless Patrolling, Energy Management, Fire Detection and Alarming, Smart Solutions for VIP guest rooms, Wireless Ordering Solution(for revolving Restaurant and Banquet Halls) and GPS Synchronized Digital Clock System. உலகின் மிகப்பெரிய மசகு எண்ணெய் உற்பத்தி ஆலையில் நடத்தப்பட்ட தாக்குதலால் உலக பொருளாதாரத்திற்கு அச்சுறுத்தல் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளதாக சவுதி அரசு தெரிவித்துள்ளது. மசகு எண்ணெயின் விலை சடுதியாக அதிகரித்துள்ளது. இதேவேளை உலக சந்தையில் மசகு எண்ணெயின் விலை 

20 சதவீதத்தால் அதிகரித்துள்ளது. இந்த தாக்குதலின் மூலம் சர்வதேச எண்ணெய் விநியோகத்தில் ஐந்து சதவீதமான தொகை பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

சவுதி அரசிற்கு சொந்தமான அரம்கோ எமெர்ஜென்சி நிறுவனத்தின், புக்கியாக் நகரில் உள்ள அப்கைக் என்ற எண்ணெய் சுத்திகரிப்பு ஆலையில் ஆளில்லா விமானம் மூலம் இந்த தாக்குதல் நடத்தப்பட்டது. அதைத் தொடர்ந்து, குர்அய்ஸில் உள்ள அதே நிறுவனத்தின் எண்ணெய் வயலிலும் தாக்குதல் நடந்தது. 

இதனால் இரு இடங்களிலும் தீப்பற்றி எரிந்தது. ஏமன் அரசிற்கு எதிராக உள்நாட்டு போரில் ஈடுபட்டுவரும் ஹூவுதி கிளர்ச்சியாளர்கள் இந்த தாக்குதலுக்கு உரிமை கோரியுள்ளனர். சவுதி அரேபியா, ஐக்கிய அரபு எமிரேட்ஸ், குவைத் போன்ற நாடுகள் ஏமன் அரசிற்கு ஆதரவாக உள்ளதால் சவுதி மீது ஏறக்குறைய 100 தாக்குதல்கள் நடத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன. 

தற்போது நடந்த மிகப்பெரிய தாக்குதலுக்கு ஈரான் பின்புலமாக இருந்து செயல்பட்டதாக அமெரிக்கா குற்றம்சாட்டியுள்ளது. எண்ணெய் வளமிக்க ஈரான் நாட்டுடன் ஏற்பட்ட மோதல் போக்கால் அமெரிக்கா அந்த நாட்டிற்கு பொருளாதார தடை விதித்தமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

98 லட்சம் பேரல் மசகு எண்ணெய் உற்பத்தியாகும் சவுதியில் தற்போது நடத்தப்பட்ட தாக்குதலால் 

57 லட்சம் பேரல் உற்பத்தி பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. கிடங்கில் இருந்த 50 சதவீத எண்ணெய் அழிந்ததாக கூறப்படுகிறது. 53 லட்சம் டன் மசகு எண்ணெய் சேமிப்பு கிடங்கு வைத்துள்ள இந்தியாவால், 

22 நாட்கள் வரை இறக்குமதியில்லாமல் நிலைமையை சமாளிக்க முடியும். 

இந்நிலையில், சர்வதேச சந்தையில் மசகு எண்ணெய் விலை உயர்வது மட்டுமின்றி, இறக்குமதியும் பாதிக்கப்படும் நிலை ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்தியாவில் பொருளாதார மந்த நிலை நிலவிவரும் சூழலில், பெட்ரோல், டீசல் விலை உயரும் அபாயம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. இது சவுதியை மட்டும் குறிவைத்து நடத்தப்பட்ட தாக்குதல் அல்ல என்றும் உலக எண்ணெய் சந்தை மற்றும் பாதுகாப்பை அச்சுறுத்தும் தாக்குதல் என்றும் சவுதி அரசு குற்றம்சாட்டியுள்ளமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Megapolis and Western Development to release two lands in Rathnapura New Town, 3 Rood 1.5 Perch in extent and owned by the Urban Development Authority, to the Commissioner General of Lands enabling him to allocate the same to the Provincial Health Department of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council.

Establishment of the National Council for Road Safety under the name “National Transport Safety Commission”

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation to establish National Council for Road Safety as the National Transport Safety Commission and advice legal draftsman to draft appropriate constitution for this establishment.

Amendments for the Code of Criminal Procedure Act No 15 of 1979

The amendment bill for the Code of Criminal Procedure Act No 15 of 1979 has been gazette on 14th June 2019. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the bill above mentioned and amendments proposed by the Sectorial Oversight Committee and presented by the Minister of Justice and Prison Reforms.

Amendments for the Penal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure Act No 15 of 1979

The Cabinet approval has been granted to draft Constitution of Hostile Speech as an amendment to the penal code and code of criminal procedure. The cabinet of ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister of justice and Prison Reforms to gazette the bill prepared by the legal draftsman in line with the recommendations of sectorial oversight committee and present to the parliament consequently.

Increasing penalties (Bail Act No 30 of 1997)

The cabinet of ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister of justice and Prison Reforms to advise the legal draftsman to draft legislation to increase penalties specified in the Bail Act No. 30 of 1997 in line with the recommendations submitted by the committee appointed by the former Minister.

Establishment of  an Agricultural and Vocational Training Centre in Weerawila and Thunkama Embilipitiya and Establishment of a Training Center for Women in Detention in the vicinity of  Mahara Prison

The cabinet of ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister of justice and Prison Reforms to  establish an agricultural and vocational training center  in Weerawila and Ambilipitiya Thunkama with all the facilities for the rehabilitation of persons imprisoned for drug addiction  and establish a Training Centre for women in detention in Mahara Prison  in lieu of establishing proposed Kibbutz Farms at Ambepussa and Weerawila prisons and   the training centre proposed to be built in Dompe.

அஞ்சல் ஓட்டப்போட்டி நடைபெறவுள்ளது. நாடு முழுவதிலும் 357 பாடசாலைகளை பிரதிநிதித்துவப்படுத்தி 8,000 வீரர்கள் இதில் பங்குபற்றவுள்ளனர். 

12 வயதிற்கு உட்பட்ட 14 வயதிற்கு உட்பட்ட, 16 வயதிற்கு உட்பட்ட, 18 வயதிற்கு உட்பட்ட மற்றும் 20 வயதிற்கு உட்பட்ட 5 பிரிவுகளில் போட்டி நடைபெறவுள்ளது. ஆண்கள் மற்றும் பெண்களை உள்ளடக்கிய வகையில் 38 அஞ்சல் ஓட்டப்போட்டிகள் நடைபெறவுள்ளன. 

கல்வி அமைச்சு மற்றும் வடமேல் மாகாண கல்வி திணைக்களம் ஒன்றிணைந்து இந்த போட்டிகளை ஏற்பாடு செய்துள்ளன. போட்டி தொடர்பான மேலதிக விபரங்களை 0718009193 என்ற தொலைபேசி இலக்கம் ஊடாக தொடர்பு கொண்டு விபரங்களை பெற்றுக்கொள்ளலாம்.

தேசிய பாடசாலைகளில் இடைத்தரங்களுக்கு உட்பட்ட மாணவர்களை சேர்த்துக்கொள்வதற்காக வித்தியாசமான நடைமுறை பின்பற்றப்படவிருக்கிறது. முறையாகவும் ஒழுங்கு விதிகளுக்கு அமைவாகவும் நடைமுறைப்படுத்துவதற்கு வரலாற்றில் முதல் முறையாக, 

இடம் பெறும் வெற்றிடங்களின் எண்ணிக்கையினை பகிரங்கப்படுத்துமாறு கல்வி அமைச்சரும் சட்டத்தரணியுமான அகிலவிராஜ் காரியவசம் அமைச்சின் அதிகாரிகளுக்கு ஆலோசனை வழங்கியுள்ளார். 

இதன் மூலம் 44,568 மாணவர்களுக்கு தேசிய பாடசாலைகளில் இணைந்து கொள்வதற்கான சந்தர்ப்பம் கிடைத்துள்ளது. இதற்காக நாடு முழுவதிலுமுள்ள தேசிய பாடசாலைகளில் தரம் 1,5,6, மற்றும் தரம் 11 தவிர்ந்த இடைப்பட்ட தரங்களில் நிலவும் வெற்றிடங்களின் எண்ணிக்கை மற்றும் சேர்த்து கொள்ளப்படும் நடைமுறை 2019.07.03 திகதி அன்று தேசிய பத்திரிகை மூலமும் கல்வி அமைச்சின் www.moe.gov.lk என்ற இணையத்தத்தின் மூலமும் தமிழ், சிங்களம் மொழிகளில் வெளியிடப்பட்டது. 

அத்தோடு இந்த வெற்றிடங்கள் நிலவும் எத்தகைய தேசிய பாடசாலைகளுக்கும் விண்ணப்பங்களை சமர்ப்பிப்பதற்கு இதன் மூலம் சந்தர்ப்பம் கிடைக்கும். இதில் விஷேட தன்மை என்னவெனில் பாடசாலைகளுக்கு சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளும் நடைமுறைக்கு அமைவாக விண்ணப்பதாரர்களுக்கு நேர்முக பரீட்சைக்கு தோற்றுவதற்கு முன்னர் தமக்கு உரித்தான புள்ளி எண்ணிக்கைகளை அறிந்து கொள்வதற்கு வசதி செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளமையாகும். இதன் காரணமாக 

மாணவர்களை சேர்த்து கொள்ளும் பொழுது ஏற்படக்கூடிய முறைகேடுகள் தடுக்கப்படுவதுடன் உரிய தகுதியை பூர்த்தி செய்யும் மாணவர்களுக்கு மாத்திரம் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட பாடசாலைகளில் இணைந்து கொள்வதற்கு சந்தர்ப்பம் கிடைக்கும். இதற்க மைவாக சிங்கள மொழி மூலம் 25,419 மாணவர்களும், தமிழ் மொழி மூலம் 19,149 மாணவர்களும் நாடு முழுவதிலும் உள்ள தேசிய பாடசாலைகளில் இடைப்பட்ட தர வகுப்புக்களுக்கு உள்வாங்குவதற்கான சந்தர்ப்பம் கிடைக்கின்றமை பெரும்பாலான சவால்களுக்கு மத்தியில் பெறப்பட்ட வெற்றி ஆகும் என்று கல்வி அமைச்சர் அகிலவிராஜ் காரியவசம் மேலும் தெரிவித்தார்.
